Real Diamond Watch. Watch House Season 2 Episode 1.
at a movie theater we know it's a movie theater
and yet we get lost in the movie so much that
we think it's really really real. we laugh out loud,
we cry, we get scared out of our seats
feeling lots of emotions, hoping
the good guys win, hoping the
bad guys don't hurt the good guys,
and in some movies the writers
even play with our minds so that
we can't tell who is the good
guy or bad guy like the movie 'Hero'.
after the credits are finished rolling
the blank screen remains.
the play of light, colors, shapes
and sounds has subsided.
a child might think the movie is 'real'
and yell at the bad guys.
an adult might know it's a movie
but still not be constantly aware how
the movie is coming from some
light projected through shapes and
colors and bouncing off a screen,
and believe there are actors and
actresses telling us a story.
an awakened person (buddha)
is constantly aware how the colors
and shapes and sounds, have no
meaning in and of themselves
and how there isn't any colors and shapes
'really' there in front of them.
they are constantly aware of how
the colors and shapes are a moment
to moment 'process', aren't static,
don't have an essence, but are
merely shifting reflections, like
a mirage or a rainbow, to which then,
based on old habitual ways (karma) of
identifying these fleeting appearances,
distinguish them from one another,
construct a story about them,
and feel emotions about the stories,
which plants more habits (karmic seeds),
to identify them in the same way in the future.
further, an awakened person, has sworn an oath to
serve everyone's needs, primarily
their highest needs, which is this understanding
of how we create our reality.
therefore, when they constantly are watch
ing this process
totally aware of the blank screen, and realizing how
they are creating future habits based on the stories
they create about the
rainbow like appearances, they infuse their minds
with the highest wish that every being becomes
totally and constantly aware of the mechanism
by which they create their 'reality' so that they
can become free of thinking things are necessarily
one way or another, allowing the shift from the
story of a suffering world into the habit of
realizing that every single color, shape,
appearance, sound, etc. can always be
a thing that makes us realize that process,
thus always be causing us liberation
in that moment from our old habitual ways
of viewing things, and we can then habituate
the view that whatever object we experience
can be considered one of the causes of our
because every appearance can always be causing
our total enlightenment, and because it is only
our enlightenment which allows us to bring
others to enlightenment, we can then say that
every single appearance is liberating
every being into total enlightenment.
so this is why it is said that buddhas are totally
stoked all the time. they always experience every
single thing as causing every single being,
in every single place, in every single time's
one very holy Lama, Geshe Michael Roach,
said that experience would be like living inside of
a liquid, clear, infinite diamond 24/7.
Your diamond walls and ceiling
and floor are exactly like that movie screen
all around you. and even who you think you are
is appearing out of the diamond reality, totally
open to millions of different interpretations,
but which you interpret in a way that is
most beneficial to every diamond blank screen
person you meet.
because any appearance of others,
even of people who we would have, in an old
habitual way, said was a bad person,
can be utilized to create a habituated story
in such a way that causes
your and thus, everyone's enlightenment,
we can say that every single person,
appearance, sound, flavor, thought, dream,
is the buddha, their divine heaven,
their holy words, their ultimate wisdom mind,
their most compassionate love, and all their
and because people can see us in the same way,
and because one of the holiest things a buddha
can do is hold their view of You in that way,
you can let go of all those old, suffering, problematic,
habituated emotional stories of yourself and acknowledge and
embrace and habituate the view of yourself
from a buddha's perspective as much as possible.
now of course we have to be mindful to not think of
ourselves as a buddha in the sense of being
higher than anyone else, or any animal else,
or any appearance else, because everyone's
equally a buddha appearing out of that
equally diamond blank screen reality right?
we'd, instead, want to be thinking of ourselves as a buddha
that is soooo grateful for every other buddha around us,
because they can all be the source of our highest
understanding, compassion, kindness and love,
that all we want to do is make infinite offerings
of every awesome, sexy thing to all the buddhas around us.
do you think your friends, family, coworkers,
enemies, doggies, and ants would like that?
